Learn More About Celine R. Williams, MA, LMFT
“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”
Hi, I’m Celine (they/she), the face and founder of Thea Integrative Therapy. I break the traditional mold of talk therapy and support authentic expression.
I am passionate about creating safety for clients to take up energetic space. I strive to cultivate a therapeutic environment that is highly relational, playful, expressive, and integrates numerous evidence based modalities to support your personal growth.
Therapy with me will feel expansive, creative, and non-judgmental. Let’s connect you with your path in life, and celebrate your uniqueness. You deserve to align with your authentic self and live joyfully.
My Take on Expansive Therapy for Curious & Creative People
At Thea Integrative Therapy, I help people reconnect with their authentic selves and align their lives with their truest joyful expression by breaking the mold of traditional talk therapy. My unique approach blends depth and playfulness — because therapy doesn’t have to feel dry or clinical to be meaningful. Healing can be both meaningful and lighthearted, and I believe that laughter, creativity, and curiosity belong in the room just as much as insight and reflection do.
Think of our work together as expansive play therapy for grown-ups and inner children alike — or two people engaged in an honest, compassionate, and deeply human conversation. My goal is to create a space where you can explore, experiment, and grow while feeling genuinely seen and supported.
My approach is informed by my life experience and the intersections of my identity. I am neurodivergent, queer, and gender fluid. I have experienced adversity and trauma, and I feel deeply. I am an imaginative, expressive, and imperfect human, just like you. My unique life experiences, creativity, and identity inform the type of individualized care I provide to my clients. I strive above all things to be connective, caring, and authentic with you; to invite you to do the same.
My Approach
My work is integrative, relational, and creative. Where appropriate, I take a directive approach and tend to state my observations directly to enable our collaboration and your direct action. I draw from a range of modalities including:
Psychodynamic and attachment-based therapy
Somatic resourcing and expressive arts therapy
Narrative and humanistic approaches
Internal Family Systems (IFS) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
Trauma-informed, social-justice-oriented, and culturally affirming frameworks
At its core, my work is person-centered — you are the expert of your life! I’m here to hold up a mirror that helps you deepen your self-awareness, connect with your emotional expression, and move toward greater alignment and joy in life.
Who I Work With
As a Bay Area therapist, I’m honored to serve individuals, couples, and families across California through both in-person and telehealth sessions. I work with adolescents (ages 12+), adults, and partnerships navigating life transitions, identity exploration, creative blocks, and relational challenges.
I specialize in supporting:
LGBTQIA+ teens & adults seeking compassionate & affirming therapy
Transgender & gender expansive clients seeking gender affirming therapy & transition support
Neurodivergent / Neuroqueer people (including ADHD & Autistic folks)
People struggling with depression and anxiety
Teens managing social stressors; desiring to feel a sense of belonging and community
Polyamorous, kink, bdsm, and sex-positive communities
Creatives and artists looking to reconnect with their voice, creative drive, and authenticity
Students or professionals feeling stuck who would like support in finding their passion and direction in schooling or career
Professionals with ADHD and Autism experiencing burnout due to unsupportive work environments draining emotional capacity and energetic resources who want to learn how to work with their neurodiversity; not against it
LGBTQIA+ couples and partnerships exploring communication challenges, fulfilling intimacy, and deepening mutually fulfilling connection
I am proud to provide letters of support for hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and other gender-affirming medical care, as part of my commitment to accessible and affirming mental health support.
I welcome all new clients to my practice and do not refuse services to individuals based on race, cultural background, religion or spirituality, gender presentation, age, or difference in ability.
As a social-justice oriented therapist, I strive to minimize the inherent power imbalance between therapist and client by creating a collaborative, egalitarian relationship where client's voices can be centered. I commit to ongoing self-examination of my own biases, privileges, and the ways in which I may unknowingly replicate systemic oppressions.
This is not a neutral therapy space. My practice aligns with anti-colonial, anti-racist, and social justice principles that uphold the humanity and right to freedom of all people.
This practice utilizes a decolonial, anti-oppressive lens. We recognize that mental health is inseparable from sociopolitical contexts, including racism, capitalism, and settler colonialism.
My Background
I am a sagittarius, cat momx3, live in Oakland, I’m a messy maximalist, a Disney Adult, raccoon enthusiast, and I definitely struggle with running late sometimes. I am grateful to have been born and raised in the San Francisco East Bay Area. I’m grateful to immerse myself in the vibrant, diverse, and unconventional community spaces here. I studied Sociology at UCLA, and earned my Master’s in Clinical Counseling Psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkeley. I’ve provided direct clinical mental health services since 2016, and continue to find joy and inspiration in witnessing my clients’ growth and transformation journeys.
Current Hyperfixations:
Growing plants, flowers
Antiquing and hunting for trinkets
All things pastel; fashion, makeup, and interior design
My Practice Philosophy
Above all else, I believe the most healing aspect of therapy is the genuine, trusting connection between therapist and client. Research supports what I’ve seen time and again — that real change happens in cultivating safe, affirming relationships. I aim to build that trust through authenticity, humor, curiosity, and care.
You can expect therapy with me to be collaborative, playful, creative, and affirming — a space where your identity is celebrated and your story is honored.
If you’re ready to reconnect with yourself and cultivate more authenticity in your life, I’d love to meet you.

Thea Therapy is a mental health practice founded by Celine R. Williams, licensed psychotherapist! The name Thea is derived from Greek Mythology, and she is the Goddess of sight, divine light, and vision, and the mother to Selene, the Goddess of the moon (whom our founder Celine was named for). It is believed that the beams of light from her eyes allowed others to see their own destiny.
Thea’s mythology is the inspiration for Thea Integrative Therapy’s practice philosophy. Here, we strive to enable your capacity for sight; to develop your skills of introspection, emotional awareness, and to shine light within the recesses of your mind.
